How to Make Your Hair Grow Faster

Ever felt like literally tugging at your hair as a way of making it grow faster? For many women (and to some extent a number of men), the rate at which one’s hair grows can be quite frustrating; and this is irrespective of whether one wants their hair to grow faster than normal or wants to accelerate hair growth that seems slower than normal.

There are a number of methods you can use to speed up hair growth depending on the root cause and one’s objective. Note though that there is no single solution that can be said to be perfect and applicable in all circumstances; the effectiveness of each solution will depend on a number of unique factors that define each circumstance.

STEP 1.

One of the things you can do is treat your hair gently. At the least, this will ensure that the natural falling out of your hair takes place at a normal pace. When grooming wet hair, avoid using a narrow tooth comb and instead go for the wide-tooth variety. The narrow-tooth comb can easily be hooked in the curls of the hair and lead to breakage.

Remember that each broken strand of hair takes you back to the ‘square one’ of growing as fast as that one hair strand is concerned. Using a wide tooth comb works to ‘protect your gains’. When you do use the wide-tooth comb, comb the hair gently.

STEP 2.

Avoid hairstyles that exert strain on your hair. If you do have to, for example, tie your hair in a ponytail, do not pull the hair hard; do it gently and just enough to make sure it holds in position. Pulling too hard will start to weaken and break the hair farthest from the tie-point as this is the hair that requires the most pull force exerted to make sure it gets in the ponytail or hair clip.

Another thing you must avoid to make sure your hair grows as is required is to avoid the regular use of synthetic chemical treatment.

Even though the chemicals are often effective in providing that smooth and silky feel to one’s hair, some chemicals in hair treatment pastes and creams are so strong that frequent use starts to break the hair and thus a step backward in your quest to grow your hair faster.

STEP 3.

What you eat is also of great importance. Just like the absence of certain key nutrients in one’s diet can lead to diseases and growth retardation, the hair, being part of the body also needs nourishing for it to grow healthily.

These nutrients will primarily come from what you eat and not only from chemicals applied to the hair. For starters, make sure your diet contains foods that are rich in iron.

Taking certain vitamin supplements on a regular basis can play an important role in accelerating hair growth. Note though that this is not a quick fix. It will take some time before the effect of a healthy diet and vitamin supplements becomes visible.
